Annika Sorenstam's retirement

Annika was invited to the Colonial tournament by the PGA Tour in 2003. She became the first female to compete in a PGA Tour event, since 1945. She also won seven U.S. Women's Open Tournaments and the Vare Trophy.

Kingsmill is not in the 2022 schedule
The 2022 LPGA Tour schedule does not include the Kingsmill Resort. LPGA events have been hosted at Kingsmill's James River Course since 2003. The event was originally scheduled to take place in 2021. However, Pure Silk ended their agreement at the close of the year and it was cancelled. It is uncertain what the future holds at the James River course. Kingsmill is searching for a new title sponsorship at this time.
Congressional Country Club to host first women's major
Bethesda's Congressional Country Club will be the host for the 68th KPMG Women's PGA Championship, the first women's major in nearly a decade.
